Our Story

Menendez International Education Consulting was founded in 2014 by Marco Vicente Menéndez, a leading educator with a diverse background in early childhood, primary, secondary, and higher education. Marco has 30 years experience teaching and leading in public, independent, and international schools around the world.

Throughout his career, Marco was driven by a strong passion for learning, a commitment to equity and social justice, and a desire to gain experience in diverse educational settings. This led him to learn four languages and immerse himself in the study of curriculum frameworks, cognitive science, brain research, and research-based instructional practices. Meanwhile, he had the privilege of serving students from early childhood to higher education, both domestically and internationally, in a wide range of educational contexts, including public and independent schools, large and small populations, affluent and socioeconomically disadvantaged communities, and suburban and urban environments.

 

These diverse experiences enabled him to understand the unique needs of students at different age levels and how best to support teachers across grade levels. As a leader, he spearheaded the development of programs, policies, initiatives, and resources, and secured funding for schools. He has also led long term strategic planning efforts, facilitated large-scale engagement processes, and coordinated educational facilities construction projects. In addition, he has facilitated professional learning workshops, courses, and seminars in implementing innovative practices such as the STEAM framework, project-based learning, equity literacy, culturally responsive teaching, and multi-tiered systems of support.

 

Since its inception, Menendez International Education Consulting has led new start-up schools in China, Europe, and the US, guiding them through curriculum development, professional learning for teachers and staff, accreditation processes, technology integration, policy development, resource allocation, and community engagement. Currently, MIEC serves public and independent schools worldwide in learning and implementing research-based educational practices based on the findings and recommendations of the top educational research institutions from around the world.

We understand that learning is not a destination or a product. Learning is a journey and a process that is about improving ourselves and our community. We hope to inspire all learners to continue this journey and process throughout their lives.
