We provide guidance and support to help institutions integrate DEIJ principles into their policies, practices, and curriculum, fostering a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive educational environment. By partnering with the school stakeholders, we begin by gathering street data and looking for root causes of challenges to DEIJ. Then we collectively determine the extent of the need for the community which could include workshops or trainings on eliminating implicit bias or using an equity-literacy framework to adapt policies, practices, and/or curriculum. The main idea is that an effective approach to DEIJ depends more on educators' understanding of equity and justice than on their knowledge of specific cultures or the notion of celebrating diversity. It also relies on teachers' capacity to foster in students a deep understanding of how individuals are treated by each other and by institutions.
